About Me
I despise doing this. The composition of a eulogy for someone whose work has given me enjoyment and in some part affected my life. So far it is one comedian, three musicians and one actor the score being one old age, two cancers and two by gunshot one sell inflicted the other homicide.
With his signature pink beard, Washburn or Dean guitar and razor blade pendant Dimebag Darrell managed to create some of the most skull smashing music of the last decade and a half, many have tried to copy his style and none have ever succeed.
Raise a beer and a devil horned salute to one of the finest guitarists of the last twenty five years, it was at the tender age of fourteen when I bore witness to the brutal riffage of a man named Dimebag Darrell it damn near broke my neck. No emotion comes close to being drawn in by a relaxing Planet Caravan encore only to be bludgeoned by a Cowboys From Hell finish to leave you sweaty, exhausted and thoroughly satisfied. /f]sflazfn

Titanic is a 1997 romance film directed, written, produced and edited by James Cameron about the sinking of the RMS Titanic. It features Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson, and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater, two members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ill-fated 1912 maiden voyage of the ship. The main characters and the central love story are fictional, but some supporting characters (such as members of the ship's crew) are based on real historical figures. Gloria Stuart plays the elderly Rose, who narrates the film in a modern day framing device.
Production of the film began in 1995, when Cameron shot footage of the real wreck of the RMS Titanic. He envisioned the love story as a means to engage the audience with the real-life tragedy. Shooting took place at the Akademik Mstislav Keldysh for the modern scenes, and a reconstruction of the ship was built at Playas de Rosarito, Baja California. Cameron also used scale models and computer-generated imagery to recreate the sinking of the ship. Titanic became at the time, the most expensive film ever made, costing approximately US$200 million with funding from Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox.
Originally slated to be released on July 2, 1997, post-production delays pushed back the film's release date to December 19, 1997. After word broke out that Titanic's release date was pushed back, the press believed that Titanic would fail and cause the downfall of Fox and Paramount. Despite low expectations, the film was both a major critical and commercial success, winning eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture and becoming the highest-grossing film of all time, with a total worldwide gross of approximately $1.8 billion (it is the sixth-highest grossing in North America once adjusted for inflation).

The film is all about what happened on the ship Titanic in April 1912, in particular the relationship between a young American man called Jack and an Englishwoman called Rose.
Rose is engaged to be married to Cal, an evil man whose wealth is needed by Rose’s family as they are poor, so her mother keeps reminding her. Cal only wants to use Rose for his own gratification and does not love her, nor does she love him.
Rose and Jack on the staircase on TitanicShe gets very depressed and attempts suicide by jumping off the end of the ship. But Jack notices her and stops her. He is rewarded by being invited to dinner with Rose and her family and Cal. After that they love each so much they run about the ship, just as it hits the iceberg. People panic, there are not enough lifeboats, Jack is handcuffed to a pipe, and Rose won’t leave without him. She rescues him, then they try to escape but the ship is almost completely sunk. They get off, float in the sea, Rose is on a makeshift raft and survives, but Jack dies. Cal also survives but Rose escapes from him.
In the present Rose is an old woman retelling her story.
Overall, it is a very good film, it shows what it was like for those on Titanic. The story between Rose and Jack contains a lot of symbolism, and here is my view on that:
The film was full of symbolism. The woman represented the Church. Her fiancee Cal symbolised the devil, and Jack was Christ.
The love story between Jack and Rose was very well done, symbolic of the great love between Christ and His Church. They met when he saved her life. She had nothing to live for, and was going to commit suicide. She was fed up with her world and longed to escape, but Jack, like Christ, pulled her to safety by offering her hope. She was like all of us in the Church, at one time going the way of the world and then our lives turned around by the love of one who wishes to save us. She did not fully accept Jack, because her fiancee Cal (the devil) was very strong and he intimidated her, bullied her, and promised her lots of money. But Jack persisted, and won her heart. Sometimes it seems that maybe we don’t fully appreciate Christ, and He needs to keep getting out attention because of His love for us.Rose and Jack go flying
When the ship was sinking, that was like the great tribulation to come. Rose could have left in a lifeboat, but by then her love for Jack was so strong that she refused to leave without him. He looked after her and kept his head, and saved her life. Cal tried to kill Jack (like the devil tried to kill Christ in the flesh as a baby), but he escaped. Finally, the ship went down and they swam away. He sacrificed himself for her, so that Rose could live. You see the symbolism. Then she is rescued and taken to the ship Carpathia, which was like a place of safety. Only 700 of the passengers/crew survived the tribulation of the sinking ship. But the devil went looking for her on there, and she hid from him. Then, at the end, when she is the old woman she has a dream, of what might have been, with her going up the stairs on Titanic to meet Jack, with all the people, rich and poor, cheering her on. This is surely symbolic of when Christ returns, and the Church rises up to meet Him, surrounded by all the saints/angels.
In the dining room A truly remarkable film. It would have been truly awful to have been on that ship, but whatever they went through the Great Tribulation to come will be far worse, except for those whom God will keep safe. King Kong is the name of a fictional giant ape from the legendary Skull Island, who has appeared in several works since 1933. Most of these bear his name, and include the groundbreaking 1933 film, the film remakes of 1976 and 2005, and numerous sequels. The rights are currrently held by Universal Studios.
In the original film, the character's name is Kong -- a name given to him by the inhabitants of "Skull Island" in the Indian Ocean, where Kong lived along with other over-sized animals such as a plesiosaur, pterosaurs, and dinosaurs. 'King' is an appellation added by an American film crew led by Carl Denham, who captures Kong and takes him to New York City to be exhibited as the "Eighth Wonder of the World". Kong escapes and climbs the Empire State Building (the World Trade Center in the 1976 remake) where he is shot and killed by aircraft. Nevertheless, as Denham comments, "it was beauty killed the beast", for he climbed the building in the first place only in an attempt to protect Ann Darrow, an actress originally offered up to Kong as a sacrifice. (In the 1976 remake the equivalent character is named Dwan.)
A mockumentary about Skull Island on the DVD for the 2005 remake (but originally seen on the Sci-Fi Channel at the time of its theatrical release) gives Kong's scientific name as Megaprimatus kong, and states that his species may have evolved from Gigantopithecus. In the original, Kong was 18 feet tall on the island and 24 feet in New York. In the 1976 remake, he's about 50 feet tall while in the 2005 remake he is 25 feet tall.
